Our History

The History of Khanyisile Primary School

The school was founded in 1996 by three teachers namely; Mrs. C. U. Holmes, Mrs. M. Lue and Mrs. M. Pearson who realised a need for quality affordable education within the Manzini region. The school started off with less than a hundred learners. Ten of them being grade sevens. The same year the school obtained 100% pass rate.

The school operate in a big old house on Holmes farm, whilst the existing school building was being build. The building first had a ground level and later on as the numbers of learners grew, a second level was added. The school has two tennis courts, a 25m swimming pool, netball courts, a soccer field used for cricket and rounders and a computer lab with more than 30 computers with flat screens. There is also a library where learners are encouraged to became avid readers in their quest to improve their spoken English as well as their writing skills.

Previous headmistresses who helped to established Khanyisile are: Dianne Hancocks, Rita Strydom and Ella Magongo.

The school is constantly being maintained and developed. It is currently in the process of building a school hall which will be used for productions and Ballroom dancing as well as other activities.

The school has a headmaster, secratary and twenty (20) hard working teacher's and four auxillary staff .

It has has an open door policy where an appointment will allow parents to speak to the teachers or headmaster pertaining their issues, whether academic related or advice as to how to improve the school.

The school is in desperate need of sports skilled people to help the coach/sport teacher to improve in all sporting codes. The school did their first IQA assessment in 2010 (School in a mirrow) .This is an assement done by ISASA to establish if the school is operated to its standard and if it meets all necessary requirements and if it has a perpetual existence.

Khanyisile School, The Board and its Directors are grateful for continuous parent support and for learner cooperation.
